I AM SORRY TO announce that I will be continuing with earlier plans to suspend writing for this blog. However, it will remain open for people to visit and read from the seven years of posts on various subjects that have been important to me, such as recovery, spirituality, theology, doctrine, apologetics, and poetry. This hiatus includes the yet-to-be-launched podcast. It was not easy to make this decision as I completely enjoy research, writing, editing and publishing The Accidental Apologist. I have found that at times I was writing about or teaching on matters that I still struggle with, especially discipline regarding finances, fleshly appetites, and other secular matters. I need to take a sabbatical to fully fall in love with Jesus Christ and put Him and the Kingdom of God first in all matters. It is remarkable how easily we can lose track of time. I never want to fall out of step with God as He has called me to full-time ministry in a faith-based program of addiction counseling and discipling.
I have no set period of time when I will return to blogging, but when I do the focus will be more refined: recovery from addiction and habitual sin, conquering character defects, mentoring, returning to our “first love,” Jesus Christ, evangelism and apologetics. I will carefully weigh my return to blogging with my recovery pastor, lead pastor, and God.
I wish you all a very blessed and glorious Christmas celebration and a healthy and happy new year. Trust in God, love Christ, pray often, and never let the trappings of this world distract you from the amazing plans God has for your lives. Shalom!
